What is PICME?
The Scientific Initiation Program (PICME) is a program that offers university students who have excelled in the Mathematical Olympiads (OBMEP or OBM medalists) the opportunity to pursue advanced studies in Mathematics simultaneously with their degree, giving them access to a solid mathematical education that will enrich their professional development.
For more information visit: https://picme.obmep.org.br/
Who can take part?
Mathematical Olympiad medal-winning students regularly enrolled in IMPA Tech undergraduate programs.
How to participate?
If you are an OBMEP or OBM medalist and are regularly enrolled on the Innovation and Technology Undergraduate Mathematics Course, you must apply via the PICME portal.
Applications are announced by the general coordination of PICME via your e-mail address registered on the PICME portal.
The selection process for PICME/IMPATech scholarship holders is subject to the quota assigned to the institution and depends on the student’s academic performance.
Scholars must take one of the following courses directed study topicsoffered by professors from IMPA Tech or partner institutions.
Participation in directed studies by IMPA Tech students who are not PICME scholars is allowed for second term students with excellent academic performance (CR ≥ 8.0), as well as those enrolled in later terms.
These activities can be validated as hours of complementary activities, as provided for in the regulations.
