On Tuesday (3), IMPA Tech students took part in another meeting of the Body and Mind in Motion project, promoted by the Psychopedagogical Support Center (NAP). The activity took place after school and focused on the students’ mental and physical health.
The dynamic began with a conversation about the importance of raising awareness about people with disabilities in society, highlighting inclusion in sports. The students were invited to reflect on accessibility, broadening their perception of the different ways of experiencing sport.
The talk combined theoretical and practical moments, preparing the students for the physical activities. Divided into groups, the students practiced exercises inspired by sports such as basketball and volleyball, as well as paralympic disciplines.
“We’re very focused on the academic part and our work. This activity that the NAP offers, especially as it’s close to the student accommodation, is very nice because we can enjoy it more. I had been off work for a long time and this was a good opportunity to get moving and start training again,” said student Marcelo Miguel Alves da Silva.

The project is part of a series of NAP initiatives that seek to strengthen integration, mutual respect, social interaction, cooperation, mental health care and the emotional well-being of students in a healthy academic environment.
“All this shared energy and the way they integrate with each other reinforces the importance of the Body and Mind in Motion Project remaining active as a tool for socialization, healthy coexistence and collective learning that show that IMPA Tech is also a space for affection, exchange and building positive bonds,” says the NAP team.
