IMPA Tech’s Industrial Challenge in partnership with Inoa – a company specializing in critical systems for the capital market – has moved on to a new stage. On Friday (8), the students presented the preliminary results of the project and discussed the next steps in the work. The meeting was held at Port Maravalley, Malu Lapido, head of people and management at Inoa, and Leonardo Santossoftware developer, confirmed the continuity of the challenge for the second phase.
The challenges pose real problems from the job market in a format similar to that of a long-term hackathon. Throughout the activities, students have access to the internal ecosystem of the partner companies and work with the same programming languages, tools and methodologies used in the professional environment.
In the case of the partnership with Inoa, the aim was to develop a solution capable of reading, organizing and making available for consultation public data from the CVM (Securities and Exchange Commission), the body responsible for regulating and supervising the capital markets in Brazil. This data includes information on investment fund portfolios, which can be analyzed to generate useful metrics for the financial sector.
“It was a very positive experience for everyone, as it was the first time we had done this kind of challenge at Inoa. We learned important technical skills and also strengthened our way of working together with the students,” said Malu Lapido.
For student Bianca Zavadisk, the activity provided direct contact with software architecture in an industrial context. “The main objective was to read and process the data properly in order to be able to navigate through this information in an interface,” she explained.
Student Pablo Cerqueira worked on the development of a module aimed at reading and organizing the fund portfolios made available by the CVM. “The beginning was challenging, because I still didn’t know the architecture of the project and didn’t understand how the files related to each other. After a few meetings, everything started to make sense. We mainly use the C# language. As well as the technical side, I got to know a bit more about the routine of a programmer in the market, which involves meetings, collaborating with colleagues and building new professional connections,” he said.

For the next phase, the experiment will be even more mature and consolidated, applying the necessary adjustments after the initial phase. “Now that the data is organized, the idea is to analyze the information and come up with metrics that can be useful in the investment context and in the company’s ecosystem,” added Bianca.
Professor Emilio Brazil was responsible for the academic orientation of the project and will continue to accompany the students in the next stage.
Beyond Inoa, MAG GroupStone and IplanRio are holding Industrial Challenges with other groups of students. NCE (Careers and Internships Center) will soon be organizing an event to officially close the activities.
A new edition of the Industrial Challenge is planned for early 2027, with the selection of partner institutions taking place in mid-August 2026. Interested companies can contact parcerias@impatech.edu.br.
