Dear colleagues and friends,
It is with great sadness that we announce the death today in Rio de Janeiro of Jacob Palis, researcher emeritus and former director of IMPA.
Our condolences go out to his family, friends and colleagues, to all those who had the privilege of knowing what an immense scientist and human being Jacob was, and always will be.
The wake will take place at Memorial do Carmo, chapel 4, this Thursday (8), from 10.30 to 14.30.
