Careers Fair and Scientific Initiation Day
“One education, multiple futures” is IMPA Tech’s disruptive event that innovatively integrates the 1st Careers Fair and the 1st Scientific Initiation Day, on August 13, 2026. The proposal is to bring together academic research and industry connections in the same space, creating a dynamic, integrated and complementary environment in which different audiences can explore scientific production and professional opportunities.

1. (About the event) First IMPA Tech JIC
A I IMPA Tech 2026 Scientific Initiation Day will be held in personon August 13, 2026at IMPA Techin Rio de Janeiro. The event is dedicated to valuing scientific research as a central element of academic training, seeking to stimulate the development of critical thinking and encourage the formation of new talents for science. It gives students the opportunity to present and discuss their work in a qualified academic environment.
The Conference will be held in conjunction with the IMPA Tech Career Fairas part of the “One education, multiple futures“an initiative that aims to bring together academic training, research and professional possibilities in an innovative way.
Conceived as the first edition of an initiative with the prospect of annual continuityThe Jornada aims to strengthen the research culture and give visibility to student scientific production. The event will focus on a single daywith presentations of projects, developed by students of scientific initiation in poster sessionscovering different areas of mathematics, applied mathematics, physics, data science, computer science and their applications..
Poster sessions favor direct interaction between authors and participants, stimulating dialogue, the exchange of experiences and the maturation of the research developed.
The program will also include a plenaryThe lecture will be given by a Brazilian researcher with a distinguished scientific record who is active abroad. The aim of this lecture is to contribute to scientific exchange, integration between institutions and bringing together local academic training and international research experiences.
Although its main audience is IMPA Techstudents, the Conference will be open to students from other higher education institutionsIn addition, participants will be able to attend the activities as listeners and submit their work for presentation in the poster session for external participants. The event also aims to encourage training new researchersoffering students opportunities to share results, discuss ideas and experience the scientific environment in a collaborative waystrengthening connections between research, teaching and innovation and contributing to building a more integrated, dynamic and collaborative scientific community.
The initiative reaffirms IMPA Tech with academic excellence, the valorization of scientific initiation and the consolidation of research as a fundamental part of the students’ educational trajectory, with scientific, technological and social impact.

3. Call for papers
A I IMPA Tech Scientific Initiation Day will be held on August 13, 2026in the context of the event One Education, Multiple Futures. Submission of papers for presentation at poster format will be open until July 15, 2026.
IMPA Tech’s Jornada de Iniciação Científica is a space for meeting and dialog between students, advisors, researchers and guestsThe event is an opportunity for students, advisors, researchers and guests to share and discuss research developed in the context of scientific initiation.
The selected papers will be presented during the event, in poster sessionsand their abstracts will be published in the conference proceedings..
Rules for Registration and Submission of Papers
Papers will be submitted exclusively through an electronic formfor submitting research information, including:
- title of the work;
- authorship;
- advisor;
- bond institution;
- funding agency (where applicable);
- summary of work.
In addition to filling in the form, a PDF file containing the posterThe poster should present the research, its objectives, methodology and main results.
Deadline for submission: July 15, 2026.
Registration for the event is free and is done automatically with the submission of a paper.
