Extension projects open to the community
External students can take part in free face-to-face or online activities
Two IMPA Tech extension projects are open to the external community. The projects Axiom e Integrating offer free support to primary and higher education students at different stages of their academic journey, with the possibility of face-to-face class meetings or individual and online tutoring.
Axiom: applications open until March 26
The Axiom Project is aimed at students from the 9th year of elementary school to the 3rd year of secondary school. With free face-to-face classes in advanced mathematics, the aim is to stimulate logical reasoning and understanding of the subject. The meetings are 100% taught by undergraduates from the Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics of Technology and Innovation, on Saturdays, from 8am to 12pm, at IMPA Tech.
The project works in cycles, with specific selections. To register for the new class, you need to fill in the form until March 26th. A total of 40 places will be offered to students from public and private schools. If the number of applicants exceeds the number available, an online test will be held to rank the candidates.
Axiom classes begin on April 11. The project does not have its own website. Questions about the selection process or the activities can be sent to the following e-mail address extensao@impatech.edu.br.
Integrando: vacancies open for continuous appointment
The Integrating Project is aimed at high school and undergraduate students from all over Brazil. The extension project offers free online tutoring on the four emphases of the bachelor’s degree: Mathematics, Physics, Data Science and Computer Science. The online meetings are given by IMPA Tech undergraduates, who volunteer to answer questions from other young people.
To join the community and schedule a tutoring session, you need to register on the the project’s official website. After registering, you can choose the topic and time of the meeting. The collaborative learning environment is 100% taught by undergraduates, coordinated by Professor Cláudio Lenz.
In addition to answering questions about subjects in the bachelor’s degree program, those interested can also schedule a tutoring session to find out more about their day-to-day studies at Porto Maravalley, the curriculum and the opportunities offered by IMPA’s undergraduate program.
