IMPA mourns death of outsourced employee

IMPA deeply regrets the death on Friday (24) of gardener Carlos André Vasconcelos da Silva, 35, an employee of Mega Serviços e Sistemas, which provided outsourced services to the institute. He was a victim of violence in Rio de Janeiro.
A dedicated professional, Carlos had been lovingly tending the gardens at IMPA’s headquarters in the Botanical Gardens since last year. He also contributed to the landscaping of IMPA Tech, the institute’s graduate school located in the city’s Port Zone.
The entire IMPA community, made up of researchers, professors, students and staff, expresses its solidarity with the family and friends of dear Carlos André Vasconcelos da Silva.
