IMPA receives Chinese educational consul to strengthen partnerships
Meeting aims to expand exchange, sharing of experiences and scientific collaboration
On Thursday (10), IMPA received a visit from Chen Mo, Education Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Brazil. The meeting was attended by IMPA’s director-general, Marcelo Viana, and IMPA Tech’s academic manager, Nara Bobko, and aimed to strengthen institutional ties and explore new opportunities for academic and educational cooperation between China, IMPA and IMPA Tech.
The meeting’s agenda dealt with building solid educational partnerships, with an emphasis on exchanging experiences and developing mechanisms for collaboration and academic exchange. Among the topics discussed was the mobility of researchers and students, both from higher education and basic education, as a way of boosting joint actions in the areas of teaching and research.
“This meeting with the Chinese Educational Consul continues the steps IMPA has been taking to establish partnerships to pursue its various initiatives. We will soon be announcing concrete results, especially in the field of basic education,” said Viana.
Representatives of the Chinese Embassy in Brazil and the Confucius Institute of PUC-Rio also took part in the meeting. Present were Liu Yang, consul of the Department of Cultural Affairs of the Chinese Embassy in Brazil; Professor Leonardo Bérenger, Brazilian director of the Confucius Institute PUC-Rio; Professor Sun Yanping, Chinese director of the Confucius Institute PUC-Rio; and Roberta Dinelly, coordinator of the Confucius Institute PUC-Rio. “The meeting was extremely productive and focused on identifying ways to strengthen the academic relationship between the parties,” concluded Bobko.
