IMPA Tech Open Doors opens for students and families
Free event presents graduation and will have its first edition on November 29th
Registration for the first edition of “IMPA Tech Open Doors are now open. Free and open to the public, the event will take place at the Saturday, November 29th. The initiative aims to bring high school students closer to the work carried out in the Bachelor of Mathematics in Technology and Innovation, offering visitors the chance to take part in innovative experiences. Registration is individual and must be done through the event page.
Participants will be given a guided tour of the facilities at Porto Maravalley, including classrooms, computer and physics laboratories and the library. Afterwards, the talk “What is IMPA Tech?” will cover the students’ daily lives, how the curriculum works, the benefits offered to students and the program’s differentials.
Among the attractions of the visit are workshops led by IMPA Tech graduates on the emphases of the bachelor’s degree: Mathematics, Data Science, Physics and Computer Science. Visitors will be able to ask questions about the differences between each area, learn more about the possibilities for organizing the course and career prospects.
“IMPA Tech’s dialog with society is fundamental, as it allows the community to get to know the training we offer, the actions we develop and have the opportunity to clarify their doubts in person. We hope that, from this approach, elementary school students can be inspired and, in the future, join us to take advantage of the excellent training provided by IMPA Tech,” said Nara Bobko, academic manager of the undergraduate program.
IMPA Tech is located in Porto Maravalley, a strategic technology hub in Rio de Janeiro’s port area. Alongside startups and innovative companies, students are trained in a creative and welcoming environment.
How to register
In order to organize the flow of registrants, there will be two visiting shifts: at 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m, with 100 places per session. Registration is limited and is now open until October 31st.
Schools can also take part voluntarily, but each visitor must register individually. IMPA Tech is located at Av. Professor Pereira Reis, 76, Santo Cristo, Rio de Janeiro (access via Rua Equador). There will be no specific transportation or parking for those registered for the event. Any questions should be directed to faleconosco@impatech.edu.br.
The “IMPA Tech Portas Abertas” event is inspired by the success of the “IMPA Open Doors“, which takes place at the institute’s headquarters in the Botanical Garden. The initiative aims to take mathematics beyond academic walls, promoting educational, inclusive and interactive experiences.
