IMPA Tech opens selection process to hire professors

IMPA Tech opened this Friday (15) a selection process to hire three professors for its bachelor’s degree course in Mathematics of Technology and Innovation. Applications for the positions are open until April 30.
To apply for the position, you must have a PhD in Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Physics, or another area related to the program’s emphases, such as Statistics or Engineering.
The main duties of the position are: to teach 3 (three) undergraduate courses per year, to participate in the management and coordination of the program, to guide the studies of students in the program and to coordinate and carry out scientific and/or technological projects within the academic proposal of IMPA Tech.
The contracting regime is CLT, face-to-face, with a workload of 40 hours a week. In addition to the salary, the contracted teacher will receive medical and dental assistance (partial subsidy), childcare assistance, meal and/or food vouchers and a private pension plan (partial contribution).

When applying, each candidate must indicate at which level of the IMPA Tech teaching career they expect to be placed, should they be selected, according to the list and respective salary bands below:
- Assistant professor (40h): gross monthly salary between R$16,275.28 and R$17,603.34;
- Associate professor (40h): gross monthly salary between R$18,659.54 and R$20,182.16;
- Full professor (40h): gross monthly salary between R$21,393.09 and R$23,138.77.
IMPA will decide on the level of insertion, which may not coincide with the nomination made by the candidate.
Selection process
The selection process will be conducted by an Evaluation Board appointed by IMPA, which will make a recommendation to the Institute’s Board of Directors. The first phase of the selection process will consist of assessing the candidates’ credentials (Letter of Intent, Lattes CV).
The candidates best evaluated by the Evaluation Board in the first phase will be invited to take part in the second phase, which will consist of a face-to-face didactic class (30 minutes) on a topic from the undergraduate curriculum determined in advance by the Evaluation Board, followed by a presentation and interview.
Announcement of results
The list of candidates approved by the Board will be published on IMPA’s website by June 30, 2024, and the selected professionals are expected to take up their positions at IMPA Tech on August 1, 2024. For more information,see the call for applications.
