IMPA Tech to hold Inaugural Lecture on April 3rd
André Street (Stone) and Auana Mattar (TIM) will be the speakers

To welcome students and introduce them to the world of technology and innovation, IMPA Tech will hold an Inaugural Master Class on Wednesday (3). The speakers will be André Street, co-founder and president of Stone, and Auana Mattar, Chief Information Officer (CIO) at TIM. The event will take place at IMPA’s headquarters in Jardim Botânico.
The guests will be introduced by IMPA’s director-general, Marcelo Viana, and will give talks about their careers, new technologies, entrepreneurship and the search for innovation.
“The Inaugural Magna Lecture points to IMPA Tech’s ambition to train Brazil’s greatest talents to transform the world around us. The lectures by André Street and Auana Mattar will undoubtedly bring important perspectives on the role of mathematical knowledge in 21st century technology,” said Viana.
In addition to co-founding the Brazilian fintech Stone, André Street is an entrepreneur who has created and sold several payment and technology companies in Brazil and Europe, including Braspag, Latin America’s leading payment gateway in the early 2000s; NetCredit, a financial services provider; and Sieve Group, a pricing company that creates price monitoring and intelligence tools for e-commerce. In 2008, Street completed the OPM (Owner President Management Program at Harvard Business School), one of the most relevant and popular management courses in the world.
At TIM, Auana Mattar is responsible for leading the technology and applied innovation team and for accelerating the company’s evolution and constant transformation, using the best technology solutions and processes on the market. A senior executive with over 20 years’ experience, Auana has participated in 3 telecommunications start-ups and 3 mergers and acquisitions. In her educational career, Auana has a specialization from MIT in Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and in 2022 she received an award from the Women in Tech Latam Awards in the ID&E Disruptors category, an award that recognizes social impact and encourages the presence of more women in technology.
After the presentations, there will be a reception for the students to exchange experiences and talk to the speakers.
IMPA Tech will train professionals of the future
Free and innovative, IMPA Tech was born at a crucial moment in the digital transformation with the mission of training highly qualified young people for the technology job market.
The degree in Mathematics of Technology and Innovation will last four years and after a basic cycle, students will be able to choose between emphases: Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science and Physics.
The selection process for 2024 was also innovative in that 80% of the places were allocated to students with the best performances in five knowledge olympiads (OBMEP, OBM, OBQ, OBI and OBF). IMPA Tech wants to attract talent from all over the country to Rio de Janeiro.
