The Institute for Pure and Applied Mathematics (IMPA) is a teaching and research unit qualified as a Social Organization linked to the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MCTI) and the Ministry of Education (MEC).
Since 1952, IMPA has provided invaluable services to the development of Mathematics and Science in Brazil.
The Institute has always known how to expand its sphere of action without ever compromising high standards of quality.
IMPA also stands out as the organizer of the Brazilian Mathematics Olympiad for Public Schools (OBMEP), the largest scientific olympiad in the world in terms of participants.
