‘Integrating’: project resumes free tutoring for the community
Undergraduates answer questions about math, physics, data and computing
The back-to-school period also marked the resumption of the IntegrandoProject, which has appointments available for the coming weeks. Aimed at the community, the extension project offers free tutoring in Mathematics, Physics, Data Science and Computer Science. The online meetings are given by IMPA Tech undergraduates, who volunteer to answer questions from high school and undergraduate students from all over Brazil.
Created in August 2025, the Integrating has already held more than 115 meetings, and currently has 186 students registered. “It’s very gratifying to be able to help students who have the difficulties I once had, especially in a more uncomplicated way. The project helps us a lot, because as well as revising basic subjects, it’s an opportunity to develop more structured lines of reasoning, responsibility, planning and punctuality,” said undergraduate student Manuela Ronconi, one of the initiative’s 80 tutors.
To join the community and schedule a tutoring session, you need to register on the the project’s official website. After registering, you can choose the topic and time of the meeting. The collaborative learning environment is 100% taught by undergraduates, coordinated by Professor Cláudio Lenz.
In addition to answering questions about subjects in the bachelor’s degree program, those interested can also schedule a tutoring session to find out more about their day-to-day studies at Porto Maravalley, the curriculum and the opportunities offered by IMPA’s undergraduate program.
Bernardo Padilha, 18, is one of the young people served by the project. A bronze medalist in the OBMEP (Brazilian Mathematical Olympiad for Public Schools), the student recently learned about the degree and became interested in the bachelor’s degree in Mathematics of Technology and Innovation. “The initiative is very cool, because it not only helps those who are studying, but also gives a better idea of what IMPA Tech is,” he said.
