Nara Bobko presents IMPA Tech graduation to Maceió students
Academic manager took part in the ‘Exact Careers’ event on Wednesday (8)
IMPA Tech crossing borders! On Wednesday (8), the institute’s academic manager, Nara Bobko, presented the bachelor’s degree in Mathematics of Technology and Innovation to students from Maceió (AL), during the “Exact Careers 2025” event. Held by the Novo Ensino Suplementar (NES) course, the activity brought together more than 330 participants to learn about courses, degree programs and career prospects in the areas of Mathematics and Exact Sciences.
Nara explained the details of IMPA Tech’s curricular proposal and the main differentials of the degree, which offers a customizable education that is unique in the country. The bachelor’s degree has a basic cycle, followed by the choice of one of four emphases: Mathematics, Data Science, Physics and Computer Science. Scholarship opportunities, partnerships and the paths that graduates can take were also topics covered in the presentation.
“It was great to see people’s eyes light up when they were able to ask questions about the IMPA degree. We talked about the structure of the bachelor’s degree and the interdisciplinary proposal, which gives students a lot of flexibility,” said the manager.
Offered since 2023, the NES is a free course that aims to train young people in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). With a duration of three years, the classes take place during the regular school day, in a hybrid format, which allows the program to serve students from all over Brazil. The course’s pedagogical proposal focuses on 3 areas: Mathematics, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Science.

“The purpose of the event is to show how mathematics is present in different sectors, to highlight its role as the basis of innovation and modern development and to inspire young people to see it as a path to promising careers,” explained Krerley Oliveira, a professor at the Mathematics Institute of Ufal (Federal University of Alagoas) and general coordinator of the NES.
IMPA Tech was one of the supporters of the event held on Wednesday. “IMPA is a world reference in mathematics. This partnership is therefore natural and strategic, as it guarantees students early access to top-level training and opportunities capable of transforming their academic and professional careers,” said Oliveira.
The event included presentations from other institutions, such as FGV EMAp (Getúlio Vargas Foundation School of Applied Mathematics) and Insper (Insper Teaching and Research Institute), as well as strategic companies for the region’s development.
