NCE workshop on presentation techniques and networking
Maria Claudia Nogueira and Tamires Klimko were the guests on Thursday (16)
How do you create a personal brand and highlight individual talents and skills? This was the question that guided the workshop “Personal Marketing and Presentation Techniques”, held on Thursday (16) by the NCE (Careers and Internships Center). Maria Claudia Nogueira and Tamires Klimko, finance, management and people leaders, were the professionals invited to the activity.
The speakers began the chat by explaining what networking and how important it is for building a personal brand. “O networking is the process of building relationships of trust for the mutual exchange of references and opportunities. It can be built with classmates, study groups, professors and advisors,” said Maria Claudia.
The presentation also covered presentation techniques that can be useful in internship and job selection processes – situations that the undergraduates will soon experience. “A job interview is the time to talk about yourself and your abilities. This means recognizing your value and showing what you are capable of delivering to the company,” said Tamires.
The speakers also left tips for young people to create real connections, such as: calling people by name, opting for “eye-to-eye” conversations, smiling whenever possible, being a good listener and working on active listening, without interrupting the dialog.
Student Pedro Henrique Barbosa praised the trail of activities proposed by the NCE and left the lecture with some insights. “This kind of meeting helps us to understand what the job market requires and how we can present ourselves to companies in the future. I find it difficult to talk about my positive points because I’m afraid of sounding arrogant, but even simple achievements, such as being a class leader or team captain, are important because they show our strengths. soft skills“, he said.
Through the work of the Center, IMPA Tech aims to train complete professionals with emotional intelligence and the ability to connect technology with communication skills. The aim is to help students build long-term career projects, valuing technical, social and cultural skills.
