Viana receives representatives from the Piauí Institute of Technology in Rio
The institution is responsible for managing the space that will host IMPA Tech Nordeste
The director-general of IMPA, Marcelo Viana, received two representatives from the Piauí Institute of Technology (PIT) at IMPA Tech on Monday (8). Aristóteles Mesquita, administrative-financial director, and Greg Maranhão, head of office, visited the facilities of the bachelor’s degree in Mathematics of Technology and Innovation at Porto Maravalley, in Rio de Janeiro’s port area. Manuela Cervo, head of office for IMPA’s Board of Directors, and Francisco Silva, IMPA Tech’s operations manager, also accompanied the visit.
PIT is a Scientific, Technological and Innovation Institution (ICT) that provides technological training through free, practical courses, such as programming and the Artificial Intelligence (AI) bachelor’s degree.
The institution will be responsible for managing Tech Park PiauíIMPA Tech Nordeste will be located in Teresina (PI), the first IMPA campus outside the Southeast. The space will operate in the former Antonino Freire Training Center building, located in the Matinha neighborhood. IMPA Tech Nordeste will be able to accommodate up to 50 students per year.
The Tech Park will operate on a collaborative, dynamic and decentralized model. Just as it already works in Rio, at the Maravalley technology hub, companies and startups will be able to set up in the new space in Teresina.
The state government of Piauí, through the Artificial Intelligence Secretariat (SIA) and the Administration Secretariat (SEAD), is one of the maintainers of the technology park.
