Workshop ‘Personal Relationships and Feedback’ brings students together
HR specialist Gisele Lima was the guest for the NCE activity
How do you react when you receive feedback in an academic or professional environment? What does non-verbal communication say about you? These questions guided the debate at the workshop “Personal Relationships and Feedback”, held by the NCE (Careers and Internships Center) on Tuesday (19), after the undergraduate classes. Human Resources specialist Gisele Lima, who has been working in the corporate market for over 30 years, was the guest speaker.
The aim of the meeting was to show students that it is possible to improve interpersonal relationships and offer feedback that makes a difference in their professional lives. To put the speech into practice, the participants were divided into pairs and presented themselves in an unusual way, sharing personal curiosities outside the academic area.
“This exercise just illustrates that when we open up more space to get to know others, we can find out something curious, something different that will help us, even if it’s a person who is next to us every day,” explained Gisele.
After the dynamics, a few volunteers were chosen to present their colleagues to the class, sharing the curiosities that had been discussed earlier. In addition, the students wrote positive feedback for their pairs, either about something they learned in the workshop or some quality they admire in their daily lives.
Active listening, empathy, building trust and strengthening communication were some of the skills discussed at the meeting. “In the workplace, interpersonal relationships and feedback play crucial roles. They not only foster a climate of collaboration, but also encourage continuous learning among employees, resulting in superior organizational performance,” said the speaker.

Student Lucas Vieira praised NCE’s proposal and celebrated the return of activities this term. “These moments always add knowledge and also give us a positive outlook on the future, fueling our energy to pursue the course and our career. This activity certainly helps us prepare for the job market, as we have contact with very experienced professionals who always try to simulate this challenging environment for us.”
Gisele also explained what codes of conduct are and addressed soft skills fundamental for a healthy entry into the job market. “All the centers will have codes of conduct and behavior, and each professional environment has its own. By following the codes, we help ensure a respectful and productive working environment and minimize conflicts. Emotional control is fundamental, because it helps ensure balance and healthy relationships. Self-responsibility makes all the difference in your career,” he said.
Lucas praised the speaker’s work and left the workshop with lessons learned. “I learned how important it is to ‘manage’ in certain situations, being honest and exposing the maximum amount of relevant information to my coworkers and bosses or, for example, in a job interview, knowing how to differentiate between information that is not important to the interviewer and exposing only what is essential,” said the student.
